Over many years, the trees at a local shopping centre in Ferndown had grown considerably and in many cases had out grown the tree pits which they were initially planted. The surrounding walkways and tree pit protective covers had become uneven and a trip hazard to public safety.
Century Group was employed to remove the trip hazards, extend the tree pits and to add a safe yet contemporary appearance for public safety and centre aesthetics.
Working systematically across site, cordoning off each of the fourteen tree pit areas, Century removed the tree pit contents paying particular car for the tree roots. Onsite operatives eliminated the surrounding trip hazards by levelling the pavers and brick walkways, installed a permeable sub base and then a permeable resin bound stone on the surface.
